![]() Thermal issues could be a cause, although generally I'd expect those to happen after a while rather than immediately after launch. Direct X/Direct 3D (or whatever) as that's another key link in the chain.ĭo you run anything else that's GPU intensive? Other than PS and Topaz? Also I assume Photoshop itself is up to date? However, before you go down the hardware path, it might be worth updating the 3d framework i.e. The moderator AiDon at topaz forums is in contact with engineering.įirst off I suggest you check the Event log to see whether any events are being logged prior to the crash? Bunjo's suggestion about the PSU is a good idea. I had no problems with Topaz until their latest update, which is why I think it's a Topaz problem (if previous versions worked and the latest does not, I assume it isn't on my end).ĭid you try the topaz forum, the moderator might transfer you to their tech. With Topaz, I get the same issue even with Sharpen AI which has nothing to do with increasing resolution, but it's possible it calls upon the same hardware in the same way for it's processing. I haven't tried running it in a sandbox, I am generally quite savvy but I have never done that before.Īdobe couldn't help me either, but it's an extremely specific thing that crashes it - using their new up-res v2.0 tool. Sounds more like some graphics card/driver problem than topaz problem. ![]() Did you try the adobe forums and Nvidia and ASUS forums. You mentioned that Photoshop CC crashes the same way. This way you don't have to reinstall you whole system to test these 2 apps or PS CC. Just a clan install of windows and ai gigapixel, sharpen and PS CC in a new emulated windows install. I am running the trial but get real bad jagged lines.ĭid you try to run it in a sandbox, or better vmware emulation for testing. ![]() It is slow, takes about 20 min for a 50% enlargement using the I5 gpu. Gigapixel AI runs on a notebook with I5 and without dedicated graphics card without problems. One time I had to do a very thorough uninstall of a security app before the problem software would work. My multi-layered security apps are pretty tight and they sometimes would cause problems installing/running new software. Or also try to re-install the topaz software with all security apps disabled. Perhaps try running the Topaz software with all your security apps disabled or removed. So, they have unfortunately been no help and I am out a bunch of money for their products.ĭoes anyone have any suggestions or has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Thanks for reading. I opened a new support ticket with them, and all they suggested was to re-install again after I already told them I had done that. I have emailed them multiple times over the last 2 weeks and have not heard anything. Topaz' support told me to reinstall the programs, and then when that didn't work they stopped replying to me. Do these programs require 1000 series or higher Nvidia GPUs to work? The only thing I can possibly think of at this point is my GPU is too old, but it isn't that old and is still very powerful. I should also note that Photoshop CC crashes my PC in the same way when I try to use the new re-size tool, so something to do with how this task is being fed to the GPU seems to be the culprit. Nvidia Titan X 12GB (Maxwell / 900 series era)ĭrivers are all up to date on everything and I am using the Sep 27 releases of the Topaz products. I have reinstalled everything multiple times including the Sep 27 updates with no success. I believe this happens whenever it calls on my GPU, however if I set it to only use my CPU, I get the "blue screen of death" which isn't much better than the full blackout I get with the GPU. ![]() Basically, as soon as either program goes to build the preview, it crashes. In either Gigapixel AI or Sharpen AI, as soon as I open an image, my entire PC will crash to the point that the monitor loses a video feed and the reset button doesn't even work, only a HARD power off will fix it (PC power stays on, but everything else shuts down and the only way to recover is a hard power cycle). Really disappointed with that company at the moment to be honest, I thought they were better and now I am regretting buying their AI suite.Īnyway, I'll do my best to keep this brief: Topaz support has been ignoring me for 2 weeks now so I am hoping maybe someone else has found a solution.
